Oh yeah, there is a new Wayward Packet.

All web servers keep several logs based on incoming requests, so the web site owner can know how popular the site is and what parts of the site are read the most. An interesting record is the referrer log. If you type something into a search engine and then go to, say, RouseWorld based on the search engine's results my server gets the search string you used to find RouseWorld. You see where this is going, don't you?

I feel bad for the people who are looking for porn and find me instead. Search for "my secret naked home page" on dogpile and RouseWorld turns up on the second page! Apparently you can also find RouseWorld by searching for "RAVE PARTY PICTURES NAKED" on yahoo. But I didn't have time to look through 700+ search results.

Dogpile thinks you can find "Screen Saver Creator Programs" here — Ha! And I've gotten a few odd hits from people looking for "sonic adventure walk throughs" — that one I don't understand at all.

The strangest searches are those, like this one from google, where people are looking for "sarah michelle gellar fake." What? People are on purpose looking for fake pictures of Sarah Michelle Gellar? I guess they found me when I had a quote from SMG that I had marked "probably fake." Oh yeah, and two people found RouseWorld after looking for "jeep tent." I know why they got me, but I wonder if that was really what they were looking for.

What is the strangest thing you've typed into a search engine?
