Country music

Country Music is just as
violent and immoral
as Rap, it is just not as vulgar.

Yes I'm back from my little summer break ... wheee.

People tell me I need to "get out more," so I've decided to do just that. My natural "grab the saddle horn and blow"
nature has been hampered for many years by a car that was not, um, totally reliable. Now that I have a reasonably
reliable vehicle I need to push on down the road some. I'm starting a list.

Oh yeah, there is a new Wayward Packet.

Media man

It seems that I've started to accumulate web sites. In addition to junk like
DaveRouse and
RouseWorld on AOL, I've now
got iRouse
at mac.com. There is even a
livejournal page out there
somewhere.

I mention these things as I ponder an odd telephone call I received today. I was a little groggy but the woman
sounded a bit the lawyer type and asked me what kind of organization is RouseWorld. I told her it was a non-profit
"org" site, she didn't sound like she had even seen this site. I wonder if they wanted me to hire them,
or if I'm going to get sued.

Save the dragons

This just isn't what I expected for a
"Save the Dragons"
web page. I don't know exactly what I was expecting to save — but winking, vegetarian, coffee-drinking dragons wasn't it.
I'm sure they are nice folks but the whole "look at the pretty, nice faeries" routine seems a bit naive. I like my nature
with a bit of wanton danger.

Well, just a little wanton danger.

Fizzilla

I've been checking out Fizzilla,
the Mac OS X port of
Mozilla. It is pretty cool, but the
bug list
is long.

Websites from Japan

I have a huge enthusiasm for Japan.
In a world that seems overly homogenized, I dig the vast oddness of the place, especially compared to our own little world.
For this reason, although I am fascinated by sites like lack-of-love,
I prefer english language Japanese
news sites.

Randomness

Hey, let's all go to Dwight's
house.
Maybe he will know the answer that Joe is looking for.

Professor Ashfield

Professor Ashfield is a very odd comic strip that asks those important questions, like why does
your job and
the Pearl Harbor movie suck?

Take a walk

Walk 95 miles through the
Scottish West Highlands? Sounds like a rather
good idea, although I don't have the money for it right now.

Randomness

Well, the world's only nightmare metal band?
Maybe not, but they sound okay,
I guess. Cool logo, although it can't reproduce that well on flyers, etc.
Thanks to flutterby, an
interesting article
from 'kuro5hin' about gambling.

Randomness

Oh yes, it is hard to find a decent doomsday cult these days.

RouseCam

The RouseCam is getting put away for a while. I'm handing down the iMac that ran it (and did little else) to my Mom.

Planet of the Apes

This is the best review of
Planet of the Apes yet.
