Randomness
Well I did go and slack off, didn't I. Sorry about that, but I have been busy at work and on a new film project.
Yes, I know, it has been a long time since Marvin the Mars Monster, but I've got a new project — sort
of a documentary -- with the working title of Weekend at Scotts. The actual title would get me sued,
probably. It is sort of Weekend at Bernie's without the dead guy, which means it
probably sucks.
By the way ... I get the strangest spam:
<< Hey my name is Cindi. I live near Goldsboro. Just thought I'd say hi!
Look me up on instant messenger if you want. My screen name is CindiF00000.
I have a home page you can check out if you want. HREF="http://www.rouseworld.org/">My Home Page!!!!
Isn't that odd? I'm not even sure what they are trying to do, really, the linked page pretty much looks like a
standard "Hey look at Me" site, there didn't seem to be any pop-ups or obviously ploys. But certainly
"Cindi" isn't randomly emailing folks in Goldsboro. Plus her site is a subsite off a surfing site,
what gives? By the way, I've altered the screen name and home page url.

Randomness
Grumble, grumble ... one computer out of 40 at work went down today and it just so happened that my iMovie project is
on that Macintosh. The drive is fine, the support guys say — the motherboard just went north, or maybe the power supply.
I can't decide if
these guys are geniuses or freaks, but a
client-server game based
on Macs (the clients) and Suns (the server) can't be all bad.

I don't like Mondays
Monday seems so very long ago.
A very sobering series from the fine staff at the
Economist:
- Day of infamy
- Who did it? The prime suspect
- Security: the challenges ahead
- Foreign policy: America's place in the world
- Terror and the markets: Panic reactions
- Air Travel: Making it safer

Live right with RouseWorld
I started out writing a new 'Notes,' but it turned into a 'Packet' article, so check out the
new Wayward Packet and learn how to live right.

Randomness
There really isn't a theme tonight, I'm just clearing out some interesting links and trying not to be slack.
Here is UberChix, an odd little time-capsule of a web site
that features two female programmers with
great senses of humor.
Finally, a pet rock for your PDA!
A very nice article about
the passing of Hank, the Angry, Drunken Dwarf.
A lot of people have linked this, and I will too. This article from
Wired talks about
simple computing.
ZZZ Online is a very odd little technical blog from Russia. Note to online
"magazine" developers — there should be somewhere on your web site a document that describes your magazine.
Call it your mission statement or call it your manifesto, but it should be there somewhere.

Bad month
Oh boy...
"In the movies, when the president says, 'It's war,' that usually means the good part is just about to begin,"
said hardware-store owner Thom Garner of Cedar Rapids, IA. "Why doesn't it feel that way now? It doesn't feel
like the good part is about to begin at all. It feels there's never going to be another good part again."
You know it has been a bad month when even the
humor magazines make you sad. Check out the
God Angrily Clarifies 'Don't Kill' Rule article.
