Hmm, do I have time for this ... let me check my
schedule.
Some folks have been critical of America's
response in Afghanistan. If you are a left-leaning
feminist who thinks we shouldn't be mean to the Taliban, well ... it is time to educate yourself.
Okay, enough politics. Well ... almost. Did you hear about
Bert and Bin Laden?
There is a new dating service for folks that don't want
to have sex — and that's not just before marriage folks, this is forever. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I guess,
it just seems odd that they are running personals. For a similar sense of "there really isn't anything wrong with that but..."
check out Durham's tourism web site. Durham, they say, has
a lot to 'offer':
There's so much going on in Durham. First, we have a rich multi-cultural
heritage, with lots of features of specific interest, such as the Hayti
Heritage Center and the Great Indian Trading Path. Second, we are a growing
community with a wealth of events and festivals that make terrific weekend
getaways. The American Dance Festival and the North Carolina International
Jazz Festival are just two of Durham's many exciting annual events.
Sure... Umm, Is it just me or have we never heard of any of these things until the last three or five years?
I got one email talking about Durham's 'rich Blues heritage,' Huh? Come on, did they just invent all of this stuff?
If you want the real deal on what to do with your time in North Carolina check out
NC Music, a nice site covering the live music scene around here.
And for those of you that don't know me that well, Durham is actually my favorite town (if not my home town right now) and I
have indeed taken vacation time there. But 'group tours,' I don't know.
