Drivin' n' Cryin'
Just about the last CD I ever bought was by an obscure band called
"Drivin' n'Cryin'" — they did the
"Straight to Hell"
song (for those of you who were there, and remember). The song, which I first heard covered by another band in a bar
somewhere years ago, was about a very messed up mother and her son. For reasons beyond us all a certain someone took it nearly
as her theme song.
So a few weeks ago I went on a business trip to a small town in Georgia.
In the downtown area there were a bunch of posters about a DnC show. The locals, a great bunch of Southern guys, seemed pleasantly
surprised that I even knew about the band. Sadly, we were only there for one night, and I didn't get to see the show.
