Third birthday of RouseWorld

Ah yeah, I'm slipping again. But this time it is for a good cause. I've noticed that the end of this
month will be RouseWorld's third birthday and I'm trying to do something special for the occasion.
Wish me luck...

New site and Boilerplate

Okay, the new site is taking a little longer than I thought. It isn't that the new software is that
complicated, it is just a drag trudging through and making the stuff look, you know, RouseWorldish.

In the mean time ... check out the strange story of the victorian age robot —
Boilerplate. I think you can find a museum about him
in British Columbia or Mexico or somewhere.

Okay, there probably won't be too many updates on this page anymore. The new RouseWorld index page
is right here.

New year

"It's been a long December and there's reason to believe

Maybe this year will be better than the last...."

-- Counting Crows

Yeah, I'm sure about a bazillion web sites are using that quote right now, and really December hasn't been that bad,
although it has sure seemed long. So after, ah, more than a month's break I'll be at it again. And remember:

Yes, dealing with today's complex World of the Future is like having bees live in your head. But, there they are!

Cult News...

I'm so bummed. The new Macintosh operating system has been released, just about everyone is talking about it, and I'm stuck here ... broke ... as usual.

I know ... "Cry me a river you liberal Mac user."

World Wide Wub?

It can be very difficult searching for things on the world wide wub, although I guess I'm glad I found this little zine (yeah, I guess). In the end though it is probably easier to find the wub on the web, instead of the other way around.

To be fair, they do have a great averages section.

Best used before what?

I was hungry this afternoon and didn't feel like going out, so I decided to make some soup. I know what you are thinking...

Cincinnati radio?

I don't know if I've mentioned this or not, but North Carolina radio, especially when you are out of range of the college towns, sucks.

From the mindless junk in the morning (no offense John, and you rose above all that) to the same crap songs everyday, all day. These stations are programmed by the same kind of people who figure out how to sell soap. I've nothing against soap salesmen, but it just disappointing when that kind of thought process goes into radio. The college stations, on the other hand, they often end up ... I'm not sure ... 'trying to hard,' I'd guess I'd say.

Trivia Question

Okay, here is a trivia question (thanks to Fark for spotting this):

When did the United Kingdom ban kilts from the battlefield?

BBC's "Clear the Skies" program

In a few days, the BBC will be airing a program about the United States Air Force's reaction to the attacks last September. The BBC website has a story about the program.
