Best used before what?
I was hungry this afternoon and didn't feel like going out, so I decided to make some soup. I know what you are thinking...
So anyway, I looked around and saw that I had a can of Hanover black beans, some Paul Newman spaghetti sauce, some Hidden Valley ranch dressing and a little white wine. Perfect, I thought, I have everything I need for Rouse's Mud Soup.
I had started dumping the stuff into a pot when a thought struck me -- what the heck was I doing with Paul Newman spaghetti sauce? That had to have been left here, along with a bunch of other stuff, when my roommate left. And my roommate left, um, um ... a long time ago.
Only the salad dressing had a date on it -- SEPT 98.
Luckily the Mud Soup recipe leaves everything well cooked.
', 'Rouse's Mud Soup
| Black Beans: | One Can |
| Water: | Third of a Can |
| Ranch Dressing: | Couple teaspoons? |
| Spaghetti Sauce: | Make sure you've got some mushrooms |
| White Wine: | A splash |
| Salt: | Heck Yes! |
| Mrs. Dash: | More than you think |
Directions: Pour ingredients into a pot and heat on medium until roiling boil and then past that until soup is consistency of mud. May take a while. Stir to keep soup from burning at bottom of pot. Serve hot.
