Followup ... Feiss

This is a little late, but it seems that Ellen Feiss' new found Internet fame has been noticed by Wired and NPR, both have run stories on the teen. The NPR story is a bit coy, but the Wired article touches on Feiss' stoner fanbase.

Movie Idea No. 576

I know, me and my movie ideas. But this one is interesting, at least to me, because it came to me in a dream. I mean I understood, during the dream, that it was a mock up, of sorts, of a movie. This isn't the first time this has happened -- I've gone to the extent of dreaming titles and narration before -- but this has to be the most coherent segment I've seen. I woke up after the dream and wrote down on a sheet of paper:

'Russia, As We Knew Her'

Old TV shows never die

They just show up on the Internet.

A Quote a Day

Thanks Slashdot for reminding me about Ditherati, a site with an insane quote a day from the computer industry. And um ... okay I know today's entry is really lame, but it's Friday and I'm really lazy.

See ya Monday -- or maybe I can actually do a review of Mac OS 10.2 this weekend.

Our America

Shortly after the September attacks of last year, the Arabic columnist Muhammad Ali Farahat wrote an essay condemming the attacks. A certain clipping service sent the materials my way and I am republishing them here, as a reminder that not everyone hates America. For many people America still is an example, a virtue and a hope of the future.

Let's go to the movies

I've been watching the trailers again and I'd like to present my list of the three most promising films (based only on my tastes and the trailers):

My favorite Palm application

Although I play Solitaire a lot, I'm not much into games on the Palm. And although I like using the built-in applications (except for Mail and Expense, which don't really move me), they really aren't eye-openingly interesting.

One thing I've found that the Palm (and similar devices) can do better than other devices is remote controls. The small size and touch screen have allowed developers to create some very interesting software remotes.

Public Service Announcement

Like I've said before, sometimes I get very strange emails at work and every once and a while I get to share them with you folks out there. Today's example seems pretty harmless, but is as close to hauntingly odd as I've seen in a while...

The daily ha!

I'm not sure if this story is, like, strictly speaking true -- but it sure is funny.

Oh, by the way, I'm not promising a 'daily' funny here....

Under the Weather

I've been nursing a sinus thing (I guess) since late last week, if you've been wondering where the heck I was. Hopefully I'll be able to get things more or less back to normal tomorrow.

And where on earth did that phrase come from, anyway?

Be careful when hunting wabbits

All I can say, is that when you are looking for rabbits -- you need to be a little careful. I can't say which rabbits I like best, however. And I certainly can't say why, whenever I go looking for cute, I always find psycho.

Not that cute and psycho is a bad thing.

Oh yeah, sorry about Thursday. I was just not yet fully recovered.
