Snow in New York?

I've seriously got to get some more topic icons. I need at least music and music industry topics. Anyway, so that leaves me putting the latest news release from Radical Records in the "From Space" topic. Hey -- it isn't a news release, it's email from freaks!

And don't ask me why I'm covering the NY Punk scene instead of NC's scene -- we all know I'm too lazy to go to shows...

Punk Rock On the Road, Contests, Snow in NYC

(New York) - Hey ho, let it snow. This NYC winters blows, so 5cent Deposit are heading to California, rocking the kids where they live along the way, and letting them know about it through a special 5cent Deposit online contest.

Radical is giving away 2 pairs of tickets to each 5cent Deposit show on their upcoming tour, including free Radical cd's, stickers, and autographed posters from East coast to West. To win the Radical package, fans must name the 3 hidden acoustic songs from 5cent Deposit's cd WE HAVE YOUR DAUGHTER. Email answers to chiba@radicalrecords.com, and the show they wish to see (tour itinerary below). First cum, fist served.

*new 5cent tour dates include Los Angeles CA Phoenix AZ Park City UT Ft. Collins CO Tulsa OK St. Louis MO Cincy OH Pittsburgh PA Memphis TN

Alternative Press review of We Have Your Daughter! (4 of 5 stars)

"...to their credit, 5cent Deposit avert comparisons to the recent
crop of boy-band punkers like New Found Glory by displaying an
impressive level of 'tude on We Have Your Daughter! "Stop your
f*ckin' bitchin', I'm okay, I'm just on drugs," snarls singer John L.
on "Things Ain't Fine," his vocal style recalling a more insolent
version of Face to Faces's Trever Keith. The music is frantic but
catchy - think Blink-182 before they got rich and their guitars
stopped hurting your ears. "Broken Frames" is a prime example - the
song pushes the adrenaline levels into the red, yet the trio's
playing is tighter than a gnat with a bowel obstruction, and more
infectious than a bubonic rat. " - Matt Ryan, AP #171 , March 2003
