Useful telemarketing
I know, the title sounds crazy — how could telemarketing be useful? But they could sell pizza!
Think about it, its in the evening about time to eat and you get a phone call. The caller says that one of the pizza companies you've ordered from before has a pepperoni pizza in the oven and its just about done. Just three minutes plus the time it takes to get to your door, and you've got pizza.
Wouldn't that be interesting? If the price was right that would probably be the only telemarketing call where I would actually consider the offer.
And there has to be ways to do this. The pizza companies should know who's called them (say, more than three times and at least once in the past three months) and what kind of pizza is likely to sell to a random person. All they need is someone with a bank of phones.
Of course what telemarketer wants to sell pizza? I'm sure there are telemarketing firms that aren't trying to rip you off for lots of money, but the fact that they don't try to do anything useful like get a pizza to me really quickly is to me very telling.
