Sold on the first day

So anyway, I sold the little blue truck the first day I had it advertised (in the print classifieds of that newspaper I work for). Getting all the DMV and tax stuff taken care of actually went pretty smoothly, for once.

The buyer (A++, would sell to again), was an older man who wanted to get something for his grandson to go off hunting with — once that young person was old enough to drive and hunt. He seemed like a good guy, so I went ahead and let him talk me out of $100 off the price (on the first day, I'm so not a good negotiator).

I joke that I've sold the old truck for gas money, but that probably isn't far from the truth. When I'm just driving around town the Bronco seems to do okay, but out on the highway (especially that day we were late for a meeting), the Bronco does tend to encourage aggressive driving. Not that I'll ever mistake it for a sports car, but that 5.8 liter engine still sounds nice when it opens up and starts drinking gasoline like a drunk drinks cheap wine.

Wait a minute, is it time for my second childhood yet? Oh well ... I just tell people I got a big car because I volunteer with orphaned seals on the weekend, and we needed something to carry the other volunteers and aid equipment. If they don't buy that I start on about wanting something to go to gigs with.
